Rachel Opie, Barrister.
Public and International Law
With more than 20 years’ experience at the national and international levels, Rachel has extensive and unique knowledge of public and international law, the Aotearoa New Zealand system of government, the United Nations, and commissions of inquiry and other accountability mechanisms at national and international levels. Rachel is experienced in adapting and tailoring her approach to her client’s needs and the issues at hand. She aims to work collaboratively to reach pragmatic, lasting solutions. A central feature of Rachel’s practice is having enduring relationships with her clients.
Rachel is a member of Kate Sheppard Chambers and Te Kāhui Ture o Aotearoa/New Zealand Law Society. She is an Evaluator for the International Bar Association-International Criminal Court Moot Court Competition and mentors junior lawyers.
